Team
History
The Valient V-Necks are one of the "Original Four" PWL
teams, but were origionally called the Boys State Buckeyes, after the team captain's (Louie, duh) unrelenting passion for
two entities, Buckeye Boys State and The OSU Buckeyes. Following little success in the 2006 season, Louie, who, throughout
his career, was just good enough to be a team captain and select teams in the draft, but just bad enough not to win any
championships, decided to try to change his luck (and hopefully alleviate some of the harassment that accompanied not
winning) by changing the team name. So, the name was changed (not really by much choice of Lou's) to the Valient V-Necks
in 2007, with the help and encouragement of (more like vexation by) Luffman an PJ.
At the end of the season, Lou hit such a low point in his career that he
was finally bad enough not to be a team captain, and leadership of the V-Necks was passed onto Killer. Although Killer had
a nice v-neck of his own forming, through popularity, the name the Rednecks was branded onto the team, based on Killers
hillbilly fashion sense that included a wife-beater, blue jeans, and cowboy boots.
They too had little success in lieu (not Lou) of the team's former captain
Lou and his new team the Hitmen, who were sweeping the PWL by storm. Ironically enough, although Lou had won two
championships already with the Hitmen, his former team, the Rednecks, won their first chamopionship that
year in form of the free-for-all tourny, Lloyd-a-palooza. (Go figure, Lou's team wins a championship after he leaves.) In
2009 after the Hitmen dispersed, Lou returned to his position of captain, to the name V-necks; and to their
same old losing ways, but his team did not last to the WWS. With luck, the team will survive and keep on keepin' on.
